Dr Gazi Md. Nurul Islam

Associate Professor Dr. Gazi Md. Nurul Islam is a Social and Environmental scientist. Dr. Gazi received his Ph.D. in Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He has more than 30 years of research and teaching experience in the field of socioeconomic development and management. 

He is currently working at the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He formerly worked with Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Utara Malaysia.  His research interests include poverty and livelihood analysis, social-ecological and governance analysis of natural resource management, human dimensions of strategic management, sustainable development, governance and policy analysis.

He published articles in journals, books, chapters in books, policy briefs, and presented papers in international conferences and seminars. Dr. Gazi has received international and national research grants and consultancies. He has been supervising Ph.D. and Master Students; he is a fellow member of international professional institutions and universities.
