Programme
Overview

UNIRAZAK is the only university in Malaysia and perhaps in the world that offers a separate bachelors’ degree program in taxation. It is a niche program designed by industry experts keeping in view of the huge demand for tax professionals in Malaysia. This MQA accredited program covers a wide range of taxation courses in direct and indirect tax. Out of the 8 papers required in the professional examination of Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM), 7 papers will be exempted. Students will be eligible to register and sit for CTIM final paper, which is Advance Taxation 2 upon reaching their third year of study. This opportunity allows student pursuing the Bachelor in Taxation (Honours) to complete their bachelor degree together with CTIM professional qualification within the duration of three years of their study. This will enhance their marketability in the job markets.

UNIRAZAK also embarked into another mode of study which is 2u2i for Bachelor in Taxation (Honours). It is a new work base learning programme introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education in 2016 with the objective of strengthening curriculum in accordance with the National Education Philosophy. Among objectives are to produce a more holistic, entrepreneurial and balance graduates.

The “2u2i” branding is used to indicates study mode where the teaching and learning process will be in combination of inside the university as well as outside in the industry. ‘u’ referring to the university and ‘i’ referring to the industry where the teaching and learning will take place in both university and the actual working environment, which is the industry.

Bachelor in Taxation (Honours) 2u2i mode therefore will have TWO (2) years teaching and learning in university together with another ONE (1) year teaching and learning with our industry partner. During that ONE (1) year, students will be attached full time with the industry.
