Faculty

Overview

SEH is committed to providing coherent, developmental-based teacher education programmes that prepare potential students to establish and work within the teaching and learning communities to maximise their potential and that of their future students.

The programmes offered by SEH promote collaborative learning and critical reaction to develop a community of lifelong learners who can respect diverse perspectives, make informed decisions, and be responsive to the changing needs of individuals in our society.

Our programmes are designed based on the philosophy that knowledge is power,

and every child deserves to be taught by quality professionals and educators who believe all children can learn.

Thus, the school aims to ensure graduates acquire professional knowledge, develop professional skills, and exhibit the dispositions needed to be effective teachers and valuable members of society.

 

SEH offers pertinent programmes in education and language that prepare its graduates to accept, honour, and enhance diversity among learners and discover their teaching capability through reaction and progressive field experiences.

Today, SEH is proud to provide a total of 10 programmes, namely Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) (Honours),

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) (Honours) 2u2i, Bachelor of Education (Honours), Bachelor of English (Honours), Master of Education (ODL),

Master of Early Childhood Education, Master of Early Childhood Education (ODL), Master of Education (TESL), Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Education.

Programme
Overview

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of psychology’s fundamental principles and theories. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of students interested in pursuing a career in psychology and those who wish to further their education.

The programme is structured to cover the key areas of psychology, including developmental, abnormal social, and cognitive psychology. Students will also engage in hands-on research and fieldwork, which will help them gain practical experience in the field.

Some popular electives include industrial and organisational psychology, educational psychology, counseling psychology, and consumer psychology.

Requirement

STPM

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00)
in any two (2) subjects.

STAM

A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid.

MATRICULATION

A Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point
Average (CGPA) of 2.00 out of 4.00.

DIPLOMA

• A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in any field with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR
• A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) / Diploma
Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate/Academic Board’s
approval. The HEPs are required to conduct screening and provide appropriate bridging courses in
Mathematics and Science; OR
• An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) in the relevant fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.

Others

• Other relevant or equivalent qualifications, experience and requirements accepted by the HEP
Senate/competent authority in Malaysia.
• Possess an Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL A) for admission.
Notes:
*All the above qualifications need to be supported with at least credits in Mathematics and Biology/Physics/Chemistry/General Science/Applied Science and a pass in English at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.

International

• A minimum score of Band 5.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)*; OR
• A minimum score of 40 for an Internet Based Total (iBFT) for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)*; OR
• A minimum score of 7.5 for TOEFL Essentials (online); OR
• A minimum score of High B1 (154) in Linguaskill Test; OR
• A minimum score of 47 in Pearson Test of English (PTE); OR
• A minimum score of High B1 (154) in Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests; OR
• A minimum score Band 3.5 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
• Successful attainment of High B1 (154) in CEFR aligned exams by Cambridge English Qualification conducted
by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).

Note:
Conditional offer letter will be issued to an international student who has not met the English Proficiency Requirement.
