Programme Overview

Students who graduate with the Diploma in Information Technology successfully secure a pathway to the degree programme at UNIRAZAK. The diploma course introduces theoretical and practical knowledge so students understand information technology.

Among the subjects they study, students will be exposed to Object Oriented Programming, Database Design, Web Design & Development, and Computer Networks. Hands-on learning skills
are integrated with an emphasis on coding skills and personal excellence to develop their confidence. Students will receive guidance in effective study skills and undertake public speaking assignments to prepare them to communicate effectively in their future places of work.

Entry Requirements

SPM

  • A pass in SPM with at least credits in any three (3) subjects, including Mathematics, or any equivalent qualification; OR

STPM

  • A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject, or any equivalent qualification, and a credit in Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent; OR

STAM

  • A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a credit in Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent; OR

SKM

  • Possess SKM Level 3 in a related field. Candidates without Mathematics may be admitted subject to a thorough assessment to determine whether their Mathematics competency is equivalent to the SPM level; OR
  • A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR

Other Qualifications

  • Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Government of Malaysia.
  • Admission through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL A).

> Notes

  • Candidates may be admitted if their admission qualification includes a Mathematics subject equivalent to Mathematics at the SPM level.
  • Candidates without a pass in Mathematics at the SPM level or its equivalent may be admitted but are required to take and pass a reinforcement Mathematics subject. The subject must be offered in the first semester or before enrolment with an unconditional offer.
  • Candidates with a pass in Mathematics at the SPM level, or a qualification containing a Mathematics subject equivalent to the SPM level, may be admitted.
  • Candidates with a credit in a computing-related subject at the SPM level or its equivalent may be given preferential consideration.

> International Applicants

  • A minimum score of Band 4.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); OR
  • A minimum score of 30–31 in the Internet-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT); OR
  • A minimum score of 5 in TOEFL Essentials (Online); OR
  • A minimum score of 36 in the Pearson Test of English (PTE); OR
  • A minimum score of B1 (140) in the Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests; OR
  • A minimum score of Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
  • Successful attainment of B1 (140) in CEFR-aligned examinations by Cambridge English Qualifications conducted by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE).

> Note

A conditional offer letter will be issued to an international student who has not met the English proficiency requirement.
