Programme Overview

This programme aims to produce graduates with the knowledge and skills to become high-quality independent researchers and scholars in specific areas of education.

This programme is designed to develop graduates who possess the knowledge, skills, and scholarly rigour required to become outstanding independent researchers in specialised areas of education. It cultivates students’ ability to generate critical, innovative, and original research ideas, supported by strong theoretical foundations and robust research methodologies. Furthermore, the programme actively encourages engagement in national and international research activities and fosters meaningful contributions to academic publications, thereby preparing students for impactful research careers.

> Admission Requirements

  1. A Master's Degree in the field of Education (Level 7, MQF) as accepted by the UNIRAZAK Senate; OR
  2. A Master's Degree in a non-Education field, subject to completing the required pre-requisite courses; OR
  3. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government as equivalent to the above requirements.

  • Pre-requisite courses: Common Core Education Foundation.

> English Language Requirements

For postgraduate studies, international students are required to achieve one of the following:

  • A minimum score of Band 5.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)*; OR
  • A minimum score of 40 in the Internet-Based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT)*; OR
  • A minimum score of 154 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR); OR
  • A minimum score of 47 in the Pearson Test of English (PTE); OR
  • A minimum score of 154 in the Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests; OR
  • A minimum score of Band 3.5 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
  • A recognised first degree undertaken in the English medium.

> Note

A conditional offer letter will be issued to international students who have not yet met the English Language Proficiency Requirement.
