Student Life Award

Nur Amira Safaruddin
UR: How does it feel to receive the Student Life Award?

NA: It is such a blessing and I am beyond grateful that I have made my parents cry in happy tears.

They are so happy that I have received the award. It is also such a blessing from Allah. This has become an opportunity to increase my value.

UR: It has been a year since the pandemic hit us, can you share some of the challenges you went through in the new normal.

NA: I didn’t get to experience any specific challenge on online learning throughout the pandemic as I have completed my studies when we were in lockdown.

However, I could understand what the other students are going through. I believe everyone could cope with the positive mind, especially with the existing online learning technology that UNIRAZAK has been putting into practice even before the pandemic.

For me, UNIRAZAK has definitely provided me with the platform to be successful by offering opportunities for me to enhance my skills, experience and networking. I believe networking is the best UNIRAZAK has given me.

UR: What was your favourite part about studying at UNIRAZAK?

NA: One of the most memorable things for me at UNIRAZAK was to have people calling me ‘Jemah’ as a nickname and I will always remember how special it is to me.

While studying, I have volunteered myself in many exciting activities provided by numerous clubs and student societies at UNIRAZAK such as the SRC (Student Representatives Council). And through these activities, I have found great friendships with peers of different stories and backgrounds.

It has definitely helped me and supported me towards achieving success.

UR: Which instructor(s) influenced you most?

NA: I believe everyone knows that the lecturer I admire most is Datin Norhafizah.

She was the previous Dean of Student Activities, whom we also consider as our mother in the club. She had taught me to always remain positive in every situation no matter how negative or hectic it can be. She always reminded us to be kind to everyone and also to be kind to ourselves.

She has taught me love and kindness that life is all about loving yourself and giving more. For me, she’s more than just an educator. She’s a big part of my college life.

UR: What is one piece of advice you would give to new students?

NA: Do not be afraid of failing and always be passionate in what you do. Be more curious so you will always be able to learn from others.

Don’t limit yourself. Be imaginative and always aim higher. Don’t let any assumption bring you down.
