The course examines the policies and practices in early childhood education in Malaysia and other countries; focusing on evaluating the practices, registration and training as well as proposing new policies based on future needs and trends, which includes policy issues on infants/toddlers/young children, early childhood education, children’s rights and safety; program implementation and practices, training and services, and enforcement.

• Identify similarities of policies and programs related to early childhood education in Malaysia and other countries
• Synthesize information from various resources to gain coherence about policies and practices
• Develop an integrated teaching unit appropriate for the early childhood level
• Analyze national standards for early childhood education and content areas as developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education.
