The Senior Academic Leadership Development Programme (SALDP) concluded successfully on 17th December, officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and President of the Harvard Business School Alumni of Malaysia (HBSACM). The programme, a joint effort between Akademi Kepimpinan Pendidikan Tinggi (AKEPT), HBSACM, and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK), marks a significant milestone in advancing leadership excellence in Malaysia’s higher education landscape.
Ninety-seven senior leaders from various government departments, agencies, and higher education institutions participated in this initiative. The two-day programme was a dynamic platform to explore innovative experiential learning strategies, mainly through case-based teaching methods. It emphasised integrating case studies into conventional academic courses, showcasing best practices in teaching, and equipping participants with tools to develop and document case studies based on real-world experiences.
SALDP featured distinguished speakers Prof. Habib Rahman, a former case writer and researcher at Harvard Business School, and Dr. Sandra Rahman from Framingham State University, USA. Their expertise provided invaluable insights into harnessing case-based approaches to enhance academic delivery and leadership.
Vice-Chancellor YBhg. Professor Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Zulkifflee Mohamed were also in attendance. They reaffirmed UNIRAZAK’s commitment to fostering leadership excellence and educational innovation. Their presence underscores the university’s dedication to empowering educators and leaders with forward-thinking strategies that shape the future of higher education.

Also in attendance was Prof. Dr. Harshita Aini Haroon, Director of AKEPT, who underscored the importance of fostering leadership excellence to drive Malaysia’s higher education sector forward.
