UNIRAZAK students and staff raised RM5,800 and distributed 7,500 bubur lambuk packs as part of their Ahlan Wasahlan Ya Ramadan programme being held throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The funds raised benefits 58 UNIRAZAK students under the B40 income group. Apart from the university’s students and staff, fondly termed as Razakians, organisations such as Antara Duit and Bank Islam as well as individuals outside the university contributed to the fund since it started about a month ago.
The donations were distributed to 17 recipients at the university’s Iftar Perdana 2022 attended by around 100 students and staff. The remaining recipients will have the donations credited into their bank accounts.
“Razakians had also distributed a total of 7,500 bubur lambuk packs at Masjid Kampung Baru and Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru. YB Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Najib bin Haji Tun Abdul Razak had also joined us at the Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru location,” says Chief Executive Officer, Encik Amil Izham Hamzah.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md Sidin says that “the Ahlan Wasahlan Ya Ramadan programme gives our students tremendous exposure to balance the best of both worlds, the physical and spiritual. It builds character and teaches, earlier on, that we have a responsibility to others as well as to our family members and ourselves.”
Ahlan Wasahlan Ya Ramadan is a multi-activity programme held in the month of Ramadan and led by the Student Experience Department and representatives from student clubs at UNIRAZAK. Activities included fund raising, preparation and distribution of bubur lambuks, Nuzul Al-Quran Forum with Da’i Annas of TV9’s Tanyalah Ustaz, and Tadarus Al-Quran.
