Business Mathematics provides exposure to mathematical techniques for beginners whose mathematical background is limited to basic algebra and it covers the application of mathematics in business and economics. The course is suitable for the first and second year students who are pursuing degree courses in business and management.

• Apply the concepts of arithmetic and geometric sequences to some common problems in daily life.
• Explain the meaning of simple interest, present value, future value, compound interest, annuity, trade and cash discount, mark-up and markdown, promissory note, installment purchases, and depreciation.
• Undertake the computations to solve problem relating to simple interest, present value, future value, compound interest, annuity, trade & cash discount, mark-up & markdown, promissory note, installment purchases, and depreciation.
• Use the results of mathematical calculations to help evaluate various options in reaching financial decision, whether personal or business-related.
