Synopsis

This course introduces the student to the various aspects of service marketing and management with the principal objective of developing skills in the identification, analysis and solution of problems encountered in the area. The focus of this course is twofold. First, service organizations differ from goods organizations and require their own distinctive approach with regard to the development and execution of marketing strategy. Secondly, goods organizations need to acknowledge the service aspects of their organizations and the ways in which service can be used as a source of competitive advantage. Therefore based on the above, the module aims to develop skills related to services marketing from a local and international perspectives, requiring a distinctive approach to concepts and strategies for success - in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of services marketing programs.

  • Identify relevant services management theories in developing and delivering services
  • Formulate appropriate strategies for managing services offered by an organization
  • Perform responsible and ethical action in addressing services management issues
