September 20, 2024

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) proudly hosted its 23rd Convocation Ceremony on 30 November 2024 at Merdeka Hall, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC KL). Celebrating the achievements of 1,119 graduates from the Class of 2024, the diverse student body included individuals from neighbouring countries such as Brunei and Indonesia, as well as from more distant nations, including China, Bahrain, India, Somalia, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Senegal, Nigeria, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.

This year, UNIRAZAK takes particular pride in celebrating 85 graduates from China, a testament to the enduring partnership between Malaysia and China, first established in 1974 through the visionary diplomacy of Allahyarham Tun Abdul Razak. This historic relationship, championed by Malaysia’s second Prime Minister, continues to strengthen ties and foster global collaboration, embodying the spirit of the convocation’s theme, “Going Global”.

The theme reflects UNIRAZAK’s aspiration to become a world-class university dedicated to delivering an inclusive and exceptional learning experience, grounded in high-quality education powered by technology and strategic collaborations, to prepare its graduates for global impact.

In his welcoming address, Dato’ Mohamed Nizam Tun Abdul Razak, Pro-Chancellor of UNIRAZAK, stated:

“In line with the theme ‘Going Global’, the Class of 2024 is encouraged to dream big and embrace opportunities beyond borders. True success lies not only in personal achievements but also in making meaningful contributions and leaving a lasting impact on communities and the world.”

“Seven years ago, we were a university with just over 700 students, primarily local. Today, we proudly stand with close to 5,000 students representing 27 different countries. This remarkable transformation speaks volumes about the ambition, dedication, and resilience that define UNIRAZAK,” said Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin, Vice Chancellor of UNIRAZAK.

She also highlighted key partners in their mission of “Going Global,” including the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), IEG Campus, the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and their esteemed collaborators at Guangzhou Construction City College (GZCCC).

UNIRAZAK proudly announces Mohd Shazwan Bin Abdullah as the recipient of the prestigious Chancellor’s Award. A Bachelor of Education (Honours) graduate, Shazwan served as President of the Student Representative Council (2023–2024) and as an ambassador for the Onn Jaafar Institute, recognised for his dedication to community and cultural initiatives.

The Class of 2024 was also privileged to have Dato’ Kamarul A. Muhamed, Founder and CEO of Aerodyne Group, as their commencement speaker. His remarkable journey and global achievements perfectly embody the convocation theme. During his speech, he inspired graduates with these words:

“As you step into the world, be fearless in chasing your dreams. Push boundaries, take risks, and let the world see the brilliance of your talent.”

UNIRAZAK bid a proud farewell to the Class of 2024, celebrating their transformation into globalised graduates with an inspiring ceremony that honoured their dedication and achievements.
