In a groundbreaking step toward inclusivity and empowerment, UNIRAZAK and the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) have officially sealed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC), marking the start of a visionary partnership designed to break barriers and uplift the visually impaired community.
At the heart of this collaboration lies a shared mission to create transformative opportunities through education, skills development, and innovative research. Central to the initiative is a specially designed student pathway facilitating seamless progression from SKM3 to DKM4 qualification in Administrative Management. This structured route opens doors to higher education and career advancement, helping visually impaired students realise their full potential.
Beyond academic pathways, the partnership extends into real-world training with internship placements for students at both institutions. This hands-on experience promises to enhance employability while fostering mutual growth and understanding within the professional community.
A key highlight of the MoC is the introduction of a robust Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. This initiative recognises the expertise of MAB staff, enabling them to earn SKM/DKM certifications and ultimately strengthening their professional qualifications.
In addition to education efforts, the partnership is committed to making a broader societal impact. CSR programmes, including fundraising and awareness campaigns, will drive community engagement. At the same time, collaborative research ventures will explore groundbreaking areas such as assistive technology and inclusive education for the visually impaired.
This partnership signals a bold leap forward, setting a new standard for inclusivity in Malaysia. By equipping the visually impaired with vital skills and opportunities, UNIRAZAK and MAB are transforming individual lives and reshaping the future of equal access and opportunity for all.
