This course provides students with a thorough introduction to applied econometrics, which is the basis of econometric model building and forecasting. This course emphasizes the econometric model-building process, with emphasis on forecasting and time series analysis.

• Analyse econometric results for policy purposes.
• Select the suitability of econometric models used – suggesting how economic issues can be studied using time series econometric tools.
• Propose appropriate time series models to solve problems in order to conduct simple projects independently.
• Demonstrate appropriate econometric tests in order to assess the impact of potential bias on an econometric model.
