Synopsis

This course examines leadership practices and challenges in an international setting in the context of culture, behavior, and strategy. It explores the role of leadership in managing international business ventures and exposes the students to different leadership types, perspectives, models, skills, competencies, and the importance of entrepreneurial and ethical as well as socially responsible leadership.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply leadership skills, styles, and practices that the managers need for optimum performance in a global environment.
  • Discuss the relationship between national culture and organizational culture, integrate those concepts within the context of international leadership, and the challenges of diversity in the modern work environment.
  • Identify political, legal, and economic systems and technological forces, and their impact on international leadership, including the role of different leadership types and practices and the importance of entrepreneurial and ethical, and socially responsible leadership.
