The course will help the student to explore the current methodological perspectives in the teaching of English as a second language, focusing on the theoretical and practical considerations of language teaching and learning, and several approaches and methods of language teaching, from teaching trends in the 21st century to current communicative approaches, as well as broad range of alternative methods.

• Compare theories related to different types of Language teaching methodology
• Review key areas of language teaching methodology from both a theoretical and practical standpoint
• Debate the effectiveness of some of the common language teaching methods
• Discuss the fundamentals issues of language teaching methodology in the context of pedagogy and andragogy development
