This course equips students with theory and practice in engaging families, communities, and schools to promote children's learning, development and success in school. Students will be exposed to strengths and needs of families in a diverse, multicultural society; teachers' roles in supporting families and building partnerships; and connection with community resources.

• Discuss the importance of collaboration in promoting the teacher-parent relationship
• Identify reflect upon the relationship between the student, the family, the school and the community
• Demonstrate effective written and interpersonal communication skills with parents and other stakeholders
