The course enable student to understand the process of learning and using a second language, research in second language acquisition in multi-disciplinary nature, and reflecting the complex nature of child and adult language learning and use; focusing on linguistic, psychological and social processes that underlie the language learning and use, and current research findings from the perspective of foreign language teaching profession.

• Explain differences between acquisition and learning
• Identify similarities and differences between SLA and first language acquisition and how it influence teaching method and assessment
• Compare various theories of SLA and know various factors which influenced SLA
• Present findings on literature review on the factors and process in second language acquisition
