Synopsis

This course provides students a clear understanding on the development of the discipline of sociology and its myriad connections and influences at micro and macro levels between education and society of the education system. It also relates a particular affinity to other sub fields in sociology, including the sociology of the family, social stratification and mobility, the sociology of organizations and occupations, political sociology, and the sociology of age and the life course. It includes ethics, professional and humanities within the parameter of education organization, set up of the school system, and the education governance. The course highlights continuance awareness of the social skills and responsibilities of educationists.

  • Define role of culture by identifying its impact upon individuals and groups
  • Explain the impact of societal groups and their levels of relationship between social phenomenon and effects upon their personal and professional lives
  • Present the various impacts caused by the five linkages of societal groups upon individual behavior
  • Explain the importance of professional social skills and responsibilities of educationists
