This course looks at how individuals and organizations use creativity and design thinking skills to identify and choose opportunities that enable innovation. Creative problem-solving skills are developed and enhanced through a range of real-world activities. An overview of the design thinking tools is provided to help students understand design thinking as a problem-solving approach. This course will stimulate, challenge and unleash abilities to analyse and conceptualize creative solutions for greater effectiveness and efficiency.

• Describe the fundamentals of thinking and reasoning to produce successful collaborative, co-operative or co-design projects.
• Demonstrate independent creative thinking and judgement in the pursuit of solutions to complex design problems and issues.
• Construct effective research and development in order to acquire new practical or professional knowledge of a self-determined or selected project.
