Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement to enhance the continuing education agenda and create flexible pathways for the benefit of learners, especially those who are working and seeking to reskill, upskill and upgrade themselves.
The universities “shall assist and support each other to ensure the success of this collaboration and deliver the higher education aspirations in providing better access to education as well as develop individual potentials,” said YBhg. Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin, UNIRAZAK’s Vice-Chancellor.
“The MoA opens up pathways to learners enrolled in GSB USM’s Executive and Professional Development Programmes, namely the Professional Graduate Qualification Level 4 and Professional Postgraduate Qualification Level 7 to pursue their Bachelor of Management (Hons) or Master in Management at UNIRAZAK via Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL),” said Prof. Dr. Azlan Amran, USM’s Dean, Graduate School of Business.
“Deeper into the collaboration, we will also provide flexibilities through micro-credentials in order for working adult learners, on the strength of their working experience and irrespective of their previous academic background, to realise their tertiary education aspirations either at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. Both USM and UNIRAZAK are committed to this agenda, which is critical to nation-building, and we will be sharing our resources to realise and enhance this collaboration as time goes by, including the potential development of joint degrees,” added Prof. Dr. Azlan.
The MoA was signed by the Vice-Chancellors of UNIRAZAK and USM namely YBhg. Prof. Datin Paduka Dr. Samsinar Md. Sidin and Professor Dato’ Dr. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan, FASc.
