Programme Overview

A Diploma in Social Work is a diploma-level qualification that equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to work in various social work settings as social work advocates social change and development, social cohesion, and the empowerment and liberation of people. The core components of this diploma will include principles of social justice, human rights, collective responsibility, and respect for diversity. This program typically requires 2 years and 4 months to complete and covers a broad range of topics, including social policy, human development, communication skills, and social work practice.

Throughout this diploma, enrolled students will learn how to work with individuals, families, and communities to advocate positive change and improve social outcomes. They will develop an understanding of the issues and challenges marginalised populations face and the various ways social workers can help them. They will also gain practical experience through supervised placements in different social work settings, where they will apply their knowledge and skills in real-world situations.
