Programme Overview

The Master of Public Policy is a holistic and integrated programme designed to achieve and to ensure that our nation remains globally competitive we need to strengthen the public sector. In view of this TARSOG offers this unique programme that nurtures and trains students to become effective, ethical and efficient public sector personnel.

This programme has been specifically designed to produce a new breed of leaders, scholars, civil servants, private sector employees, economists and managers who are ready to face a challenging and competitive world in the future.

Students will be nurtured to produce a new pool of competent, capable, knowledgeable and ethical human capital to assist the government and the industry in enhancing the global competitiveness of Malaysia.

Programme Objectives

  • To develop towering and world class public administrators, managers and leaders, who are competent and are highly ethical to lead and manage public affairs and national development.
  • To enrich and enhance capabilities and competencies of public and corporate sectors managers and leaders to deliver result to society and stakeholders.
  • To prepare manager to take up position of high level executives to advance professionally in the career system.

Entry Requirements

A pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the University Senate; or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 2 years working experience in relevant field; or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

A minimum score of Band 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or  minimum score of 550 for a paper-based total or 80 for an Internet based total for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or minimum of Grade C in First Cambridge English (FCE) minimum scale 169, or B2 in CEFR, or Pearson Test of English (PTE 50-58) as required proficiency; or a recognized first degree undertaken in English medium; or successful attainment of FCE minimum of Grade C (169) conducted by the Centre for English Language (CEL) within 12 months from the date of entry with conditional offer letter.

Note: The validity period for IELTS and TOEFL is two years from the date awarded.
