Programme Overview

The Master of Public Policy is a dynamic and comprehensive programme designed to strengthen Malaysia’s public sector and ensure the nation remains globally competitive. Offered by Tun Ahmad Sarji School of Government and Public Services (TASSGSP), this programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical grounding needed to become effective and impactful leaders in public service.

Our curriculum is tailored to develop a new generation of leaders, scholars, civil servants, corporate professionals, economists, and managers who are ready to tackle the challenges of an increasingly competitive and complex world. Students will emerge as competent, knowledgeable, and ethical professionals capable of driving meaningful change in both government and industry, contributing to Malaysia’s global competitiveness.

Programme Objectives

  • Develop world-class leaders: Cultivate highly competent and ethical public administrators, managers, and leaders capable of guiding public affairs and national development.

  • Enhance professional capabilities: Strengthen the skills and competencies of managers and leaders in both the public and corporate sectors to deliver tangible results for society and stakeholders.

  • Advance careers: Prepare professionals for senior executive roles, enabling them to progress confidently in their careers and make a lasting impact.

Entry Requirements

A pass with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the University Senate; or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and not meeting CGPA of 2.75, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 2 years working experience in relevant field; or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50, can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

A minimum score of Band 6.0 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or  minimum score of 550 for a paper-based total or 80 for an Internet based total for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); or minimum of Grade C in First Cambridge English (FCE) minimum scale 169, or B2 in CEFR, or Pearson Test of English (PTE 50-58) as required proficiency; or a recognized first degree undertaken in English medium; or successful attainment of FCE minimum of Grade C (169) conducted by the Centre for English Language (CEL) within 12 months from the date of entry with conditional offer letter.

Note: The validity period for IELTS and TOEFL is two years from the date awarded.
